This workshop aims to provide space for an exploration of authentic movement, musical influences and dramatic approaches to contribute to the ideas of mending, restoring, and transforming ourselves in the drama therapy and allied professional communities. This process is designed to ask pertinent questions around these themes, without having the answers to what the outcome might be. We will let our bodies explore the answers we are seeking. Each aspect of the workshop is centered on delving into how the body as an instrument responds to the questions of what it truly means to mend, restore, and transform our lives as a community. As a practice-based approach, we desire to offer another perspective to embodied practice through the intersectionality of artistic practices like authentic movement, music, and drama therapy approaches. As a community we will share our embodied stories through group activities and offer reflection on our positionality in the areas of mending, restoring, and transforming.
